Current Update on Fitness and Figure Ladies Interview:

Name: Suzanne Twelker
1. What show are you doing this year?
ABBA Masters, ABBA Figure
2. Who is your Trainer? (and why)
Martha Lombardo-Grant.
Why: She's the best. Simple.
What makes her the best? Martha has that extra "thing" we are all looking for in a trainer. Many trainers (even Pros) will throw ideas, menus, plans, questionable information and "whatever" your way then leave you to it. Martha has the knowledge base, the experience to fit that knowledge to individuals, but, what makes it work - Martha is her profession. She loves and respects the people she works with, their goals and their idiosyncrasies. She finds what you are seeking, she has the perspective to not only get you there - but to move you ahead, to balance, to achieve and to enjoy life...
3.Bio: Brief History until present date
Pretty standard stuff - baby to kid (active/moderately athletic, but not crazy). I became a student, then a professional, and a Mama, later I discovered I was plump and the warning signs of average middle aged life were every where! I'm not willing to settle for a second rate life; I'm here to live, to model that approach for my kids, to share and have fun...so I started tainting as a touch stone and tool for my life....and postponed middle age and all that shtick for when it's really due: at about 80!
4. Achievements: List of Competitions and your Ranking
Ummm.....None! (Yet!)
5. What are goals and outcome - do you want to gain from competing this year?
I love life. I want to taste every drop. I want to know what it's like to diet and train at the level of competition, I want to know more about my abilities. Sure I've got limits - we all know we do. But what don't know is the extent of is my abilities and the experience of training. That's what I want out of this. Then at the end of it all - I want to stand on a stage and smile with the world !!
6. Goals: For Future (upcoming year-years)

I'm checking out all the options - life's short we gotta pick'n choose, line it up with our values and then run with it!

7. What is your favourite exercise:

Cardio - because I never want to do it. I never like the first 5 minutes. Then I give in, boogy to my favourite tunes and I fly! It makes me realize the things you like least are often where the treasures are hidden; wanting results is much harder than just doing what it takes.

8. Describe yourself in one sentence. Plyometrically challenged? Alright, alright - I'm cheerful and I'm in get to get dirty over my elbows (in everything I do).

9. What do you do for fun?

Coffee/wine with friends, shopping (bad!), bedroom sports, cook, read, photograph and travel.

Name: Karma Schopp
What show are you doing this year?
I will competing at the 2007 Alberta Provincial Bodybuilding and Figure Championships in the Tier 2 Tall class. From there, I hope to qualify for the Nationals – which are a week after Provincials. As well – I will be entering the David Ford Fitness Model Search.

Who is your trainer and why?
My trainer is Martha Lombardo-Grant. She has a spirit and passion about her that is extremely contagious! Martha is one of the most generous people that I know. She is more than willing to share her knowledge and experience with you to help get you to your goals. She also truly cares about you as an individual and an athlete.

Bio – brief history to date:
I’ve always been an athlete – competing in sport as young as the age of 5. You name the sport – I’ve probably done it. From the age of 15-18, it was Olympic Weightlifting – where I was a National Level athlete. I also competed in several kickboxing fight cards and karate tournaments. And most recently – Bodybuilding\Figure\Fitness modeling.

Achievements: List of competitions and rankings
2006 Alberta Provincial Figure Championships – 2nd Place Tier 1 Tall Class
2006 David Ford Fitness Model Search – contestant
2005 Muscle Beach – Bodybuilding Middleweight Class – 8th Place

What are your goals and what do you want to gain from competing this year?
My goal this year is to win the Tier 2 Tall class at Provincials and take the Overall title. Then head to Nationals the week after. As it would be my first National competition – I’m not sure what to expect there. I can only be my best! Other than that – I would love to gain more exposure. As well as, continue building a strong reputation as an athlete and Personal Trainer.

Goals for the upcoming years:
In the next couple of years, I want to get my IFBB Pro card. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve wanted to be a Professional Athlete.

What is your favorite exercise?
If you’re talking in a general sense – nothing beats laying down in bed after a long day! At the gym – I’m a bit of a cardio freak – love Boot Camp style classes. Also, like working my shoulders and back.

Describe yourself in one sentence.
Goofy, loyal, tomboy princess.

What do you do for fun?
I love to eat! So dining with friends (when cheat meal is allowed) is a favorite of mine. I also love to simply relax. I lead a hectic life with 2 jobs and also dieting and training. So, I am more than happy to just chill out.

Name: Krystal Sekora

I’m 24 years old and have always been somewhat athletic. I played competitive fastball for 9 years, competed in track and field at a provincial level, played rugby, volleyball and basketball. I completed my Exploration Technology diploma with honours from SAIT and I am currently in the 3rd year of my Geophysics degree from the University of Calgary. I have a wonderful boyfriend, Doug, who got my interested in this sport. He has supported me through the best and worst times of dieting and I can’t thank him enough. We have a beautiful house and an amazing dog named Ajax. I really couldn’t ask for anything more!!
4. Achievements: List of Competitions and your Ranking
2006 Alberta Provincial Figure Tier 1 – no ranking
5. What are goals and outcome -do you want to gain from competing this year?
I want to finish in the top 10 so that I can qualify for Tier 2. I also plan to make an appearance at the 2007 David Ford model search and see what it’s all about.
6. Goals: For Future (upcoming year-years)
I want to compete at the national level and want to compete at an NPC show in the States once I have completed my degree.
7. What is your favorite exercise
I love anything that revolves around back, especially V-pulldowns.
8. Describe yourself in one sentence
Determined, driven, stubborn, and well…..I am a university student so therefore…..procrastinator.
9. What do you do for fun?
Hmmm, does studying count? Ha ha ha!!! I guess if I’m not studying, prepping meals, or doing cardio I like to watch movies, play slow-pitch, rollerblade, and love spending time with my honey Doug and our Shephard/Rotti Ajax.

We have Fitness Champion…
The final results are in for the 2007 Arnold Classic Fitness International are... 1. Kim Klein 2. Jen Hendershott 3. Adela Garcia 4. Tanji Johnson 5. Julie Palmer 6. Tracey Greenwood CONGRATULATIONS LADIES!!
Well you will find this very interesting report and overall feedback and the results from the Women Show of Women’s Fitness and Figure! Report by: Flexonline

Our New Fitness Champion, Kim Klein finally broke through and won her first major fitness title. It wasn’t the most entertaining routine however ditching the props and going for a streamlined two - minute presentation; she used her energetic tumbling skills and strength to place her claim to the top spot.
In second, Columbus' own Jen Hendershott, who, as always, entertained with an innovative routine that had her dressed as a girl scout, even handing out boxes of cookies afterward. This was Hendershott's final competition, and she is walking away from the sport as one of its greatest champions ever. She will be dearly missed- on stage.
As far as the Figure International, Lado's victory was not unexpected. As always presents great beauty. For the Women IFBB Pro Figure suffers greatly, for a sport still struggling for an identity and consistent judging criteria, it's hard to fathom rhyme or reason why one competitor edges another. Makes this element and overall judging system with inconsistency, very frustrating for the athlete’s.
